Have you ever made a gift that you wanted to keep? I had a really hard time taking this one to the post office. I sewed this linen and leather padfolio for Heather from The Sewing Loft for a gift exchange. She's a pen and paper gal and this padfolio sewing pattern was just the thing for a legal pad, pen and some business cards. An all around great notepad cover pattern.
Pattern: Padfolio by Rachael from Imagine Gnats
The pattern does not include instructions for making leather corners. Here's what to do:
- Cut leather triangles.
- Sew leather on front corners.
Easy, right?
*can I just note that for some reason my stitches are SO crooked on this project and is no reflection of the pattern? It's actually a bit embarrassing. Don't look too close.
I used some more of my favorite Liberty fabric that I used on the hood of my wool cape and the embroidery hoop sewing kit. I can't get enough of this fabric.
I need to make one of these padfolios for me now. I love computers and smart phones but there's just something about writing down notes on paper.
Are you more of a paper or a computer note taker?
Hi I’m Heather! Please email me when you get a chance, I have a question about your blog! LifesABanquet1(at)gmail.com
Oooooh! I love this! What a pretty portfolio!
I agree – I’m all about smart phones but when it comes to planning or list making I’m definitely a pen and paper person. So cute!
Thank you Bev! I definitely prefer pen and paper!
I love the linen and leather look, it’s gorgeous!
I’m a pen and paper girl too. I really can’t come around to doing it on the computer, I like that I can pick up my notebook or the random bits of paper where I’ve written down my thoughts and notes, and check them whenever I want/need.
I’m going to put this pattern on my ‘need’ list, it’s so cute and so practical

It turned out amazing!
I love to write notes with a pen and paper but keep a lot of stuff in my calendar too(;
Andrea this is too awesome!! I love my digital planner but I still have a deep passion for handwritten todo lists..
Pinning this for sure!
I’m definitely a Ipad/Smartphone/Computer note taker… I should use more notebooks because those are more reliable!
