Refreshing your home for SPRING

It may not quite feel like Spring where you live but the sun is definitely shining here and all the usual feelings with the change of season are starting to pop up. It's time to clean (read: get rid of junk) and rearrange furniture. I started selling a ton of my fabric a couple weeks ago and I've been slowly getting rid of things in every room that we don't need (a million toys, anyone?). And now I'm adding in little things here and there to brighten up the rooms!

I'm trying to follow my own advice about color and texture but it's a small space so I was afraid to overwhelm it with too much (note the already busy 4 and 5 year old artwork on the wall) so I watched this quick little Target video to get inspired.

This makes me want an open bright house. And everything in it. But I'll work with what I have. Which is more of a dark, windowless hole. But I do have some light in this one space where that white couch is.

And I'll be honest, we don't usually "do" pillows around here. For too many years I was picking them up off the floor constantly so I got rid of them all. But it was time.

And the pillows made a big difference in this space! But I wasn't quite done yet. It needed texture.

What do you think?

I think this room needs this rug and maybe this adorable end table! More contrast and texture. That table is lined with jute. How great is that??

And I do love these Threshold pillows. Especially the ikat patchworkiness of it all.

I appreciate the use of color and contrast all in one pillow. Hello red, we see you. It's safe to say that the Threshold line at Target just gets color, contrast design and texture.

So, do you begin reorganizing and redecorating this time of year? You should! It's time for a fresh, clean home.

It's time for Springtime!
