Skipper Top Tour

When Abby asked me join the Skipper Top Tour I jumped at the chance to say yes! I have loved every version of this pattern that I've seen and Abby is just the best. I got to meet her in person last year at Fabric Weekend and I can tell you she is hilarious and so kind!

The Skipper Top is a super quick sew. I used a knit fabric from the Michael Levine Loft (I bought it during Fabric Weekend) and it was a remnant so I have no idea what it is. If I made my best guess I'd say it is a silk jersey. It's a lovely fabric. The piece I got was just enough for this shirt.

I did the version with the neck, sleeve and waist bands. That's the absolute easiest way to finish a knit shirt. I love the way it finishes this shirt.

It's a dolman shirt, which means there are no sleeves to set in. If you wanted to fold and hem the neckline, sleeves and hem, there would just be 2 pieces to this top.

From printing to completion this shirt took me one hour. HOWEVER. I pulled a Sally and while rushing I biffed the neckline. If it wasn't stripes you wouldn't be able to notice.

I definitely give this pattern a whole hearted 5  STARS. Even if I didn't know Abby I'd still give it a 5 star rating. So professionally drafted and the instructions are great!
